We love finding pull-down music boxes with a variety of volumes and melodies.

We try to keep a few within baby's reach all day, and incorporate some into our routines.

They also make wonderful timers or transitional devices - when the song finishes, so does that particular activity. It's something that a baby can more easily understand and anticipate.

While they're pricier than regular stuffed animals, we've really limited the number of regular stuffed animals we buy, in favor of having a few music boxes.
